Black Lives Matter.

We are devastated by the killing of George Floyd. Our hearts go out to the families and victims of police brutality and racism including Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless others. This reality is unacceptable. We unequivocally stand for racial justice and support the fight to end systemic racism.

We vow to do our part, and continue to treat all people equally, regardless of income, race, gender identification, sexual orientation, or any other characteristics. To show our support, we’ve decided to donate the first month’s fees of any new members to one of the following organizations:

  • A nationwide bailout fund to support peaceful protesters who were arrested.

  • The go-fund me account for Breonna Taylor.

  • Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights foundation

If you’d like your membership donation to go to another organization in support of this cause, please let us know.

We’ve also signed this petition, calling for an end to police violence against black people, which we found through President Obama’s website. We ask any readers interested in supporting these issues to do the same.

Our fundamental belief is to treat anyone who walks through out doors equally, and with compassion. For us, this means listening first, without judgement, and seeing people as individuals with unique backgrounds and circumstances. We believe understanding each human story is critical to providing good health care. We remain committed to this mission more than ever.

Lastly, we also remain committed to serving vulnerable populations where access to health resources is lacking, and hope to make an impact in any way possible. Going forward, we will be organizing events and outreach programs that provide care to communities and persons in need. Our previous work with communities in need include developing Project R.E.A.C.H. (a health outreach program meant to empower middle schoolers in Camden, NJ), working on public health research in underserved communities in Peru and Bolivia, and running a free school-based wellness program for families in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Sincerely and in solidarity,

Drs. Jason and Malasa Kahn
